KIM WHALEN BLAKE

A specialist in employment law, Kim qualified in 2010, after previously working as a paralegal and compliance auditor. She later joined a Bristol-based law firm as an associate, where she worked for almost a decade, rising to partner and head of the firm’s 30-strong employment department.

She joined MDJ from a multi-disciplinary practice in Cheltenham, where she was responsible for building an employment law offering and team. She also acted as the firm’s Training Contract Principal and advised on the firm’s internal employment issues.

Kim has a demonstrated history of working with both employees and employers. In the latter years of experience, her practice has been more focused on commercial clients, guiding them through the complexities of employment law and supporting the management of the employee life-cycle. She has a wide spectrum of employment law knowledge, from recruitment processes to termination procedures, as well as extensive experience of managing complex Tribunal disputes and achieving positive resolutions for employers and employees.

Her client-focused, pragmatic approach makes Kim an excellent fit for the MDJ team.
